Semi-Scleral Lenses
A balance between comfort and clarity.
Semi-scleral lenses are larger than traditional RGP lenses but smaller than full scleral lenses. They rest partially on the sclera (white part of the eye) and partially on the cornea, providing enhanced comfort and better stability than standard RGPs.
They also hold a tear reservoir under the lens, which helps smooth out the corneal surface and keeps the eye hydrated.
✅ Ideal for:
- Mild to moderate keratoconus
- Dry eye with lens discomfort
- Irregular corneas
- Patients needing more comfort than RGP but not full scleral
Semi-sclerals offer the perfect middle ground for those who need more than RGP but don’t yet require full scleral support.
