Tricromat / X- crome Contact Lenses
Bringing color back into focus.
Color vision deficiency—commonly called “color blindness”—is a condition where individuals have difficulty distinguishing certain colors, usually red and green or blue and yellow. Color vision contact lenses are specially tinted lenses designed to enhance color contrast and help users better differentiate between shades they usually struggle with.
These lenses do not cure color blindness, but they can significantly improve color perception and quality of life in daily activities such as selecting clothing, reading color-coded charts, and even improving eligibility for specific jobs.
✅ Ideal for:
- Red-green color deficiency (Protan/Deutan)
- Blue-yellow color deficiency (Tritan – rarer)
- Enhancing daily color contrast
- Improving occupational performance (pilots, electricians, designers)
💡 How They Work:
These lenses use selective light filtering technology to enhance the contrast between problematic color pairs, making them appear more distinguishable.
🧪 Available in:
- Contact lenses (tinted soft lenses)
- Spectacle lenses (for non-lens wearers)
At our clinic, we offer individualized testing and lens trials to determine which filter works best for your specific type of deficiency.
